About
I am an environmental economist and Postdoctoral Research Scholar at North Carolina State University, where I work in collaboration with the U.S. Forest Service evaluating the economic impacts of Hurricane Helene on the Southern forest sector. I completed my PhD in Forestry and Environmental Resources at NC State in 2025, with a dissertation examining the institutional performance, leadership, and economic viability of forest and water commons governance in the Himalaya.
My research sits at the intersection of environmental economics, institutional theory, and natural resource governance. I combine advanced econometric modeling, geospatial analysis, and cost-benefit analysis to produce rigorous, policy-relevant research across forest and water systems in South Asia and beyond. I have previously worked with the Food and Agriculture Organization, the World Resources Institute, WWF Nepal, CIFOR, and ForestAction Nepal across Nepal, India, and other countries.
I hold an MSc in Economics, Environment and Policy from Wageningen University and Research in the Netherlands, and a BBA from Kathmandu University.
